Social media spreads negative school events quickly. A school’s reputation and culture are harmed when those negative events are spread. How the principal handles these events makes all the difference. Principals need to address the reputation risk of negative events. Our program does that.
Listen to Phil DeCico explain more.
Brian and Tabbatha Lawe lost their beloved nephew, Stevie, to suicide. That event was devastating to their extended family, to Stevie’s school, and to the broader local community. The Lawes turned their grief into action and created a family foundation to help K-12 and college students stay mentally healthy and improve SEL skills. Prevention is everything in this space.
After interviewing hundreds of college and K-12 principals, administrators, and school counselors, the Lawes began focusing on restoring school culture and climate issues. Their focus became preventing repeating issues and stopping issues overwhelming the school.
It was a big challenge; one their foundation could not handle alone. They got tremendous support from the Kopp Family Foundation , and the nonprofit Ave Maria Community Corporation. A BIG thank you to both!
